Introduction
What is a Case Study? The case study (DT3) is worth 30% towards the AS Level and 15% towards the full A Level. The format for assessment is a 3000 - 5000 word document, using a range of graphic media, for example (photographs, maps, tables, graphic images, engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, sketches and annotation). The case study will report on the preliminary visit and a five-day placement.

The Industrial Placement

•  You will arrange your visit with the company. Make sure you record all communication between yourself and the company.

•  You are on placement to observe and experience aspects of a company.

•  You should adhere to normal working hours.

•  You must plan your placement, however, be prepared to modify your plan in the light of any new experiences.

•  Ensure you leave a contact number with the D&T department in school.

Make sure you inform your Form Tutor & subject staff to arrange for set work.
