Experimental Work |
This is linked to your developing
of ideas. It is the practical aspect of your development. |
Prototypes |
The experiment work that you undertake in as part of
your development do have have to be full size. You can produce models
in card or balsa wood. |
Dissassembly |
Taking apart either your own or an existing product to
find out specific things from it. This could include looking into materials
or fixing components. |
Manufacturing Methods |
Producing your product to its best quality can depend
on the manufacturing method chosen. By experimenting with different
methods you may find that some are more effective or increase the quality
of your product than others. |
Material Properties |
All materials have unique properties, from strength to
insulation. By using specific mmaterials for their quality you can
alter the overall use of a product. |
Evaluation of Each |
All experimental work has to be evaluated, not only to
show the benfits of it, but to ensure that you show the examiner that
you have an understanding of what you are ryring to achive and a justifcation
for carrying out the experiments. Some may be on going and require
more testing, all of which should be written up, with results presented
in the approprite form, eg graphs or diagrams. |
